Earth Day 2022 is around the corner, and we’re rallying for a fully funded NYC Streets Plan and for Mayor Adams to support the bold vision proposed by the NYC Council to invest $3.1 billion in bus lanes, bike lanes, car-free transit corridors, and pedestrian spaces to combat the climate crisis.
Transportation is still the leading source of greenhouse gas emissions in NYC. We need to redesign our streets to promote fast, reliable transit and safe spaces for pedestrians and cyclists if we’re going to end car dependency, reduce traffic violence, and reach our emissions goals before time runs out.
Join Riders Alliance members, advocates, and elected officials at City Hall on Thursday, April 21 at 10a.m. to call on Mayor Adams to include the proposed $3.1 billion in this year’s budget to fully fund the NYC Streets Plan take a stand against climate change.
