#BetterBuses are coming to Flatbush Avenue!

In early July, riders assembled with a super-coalition of labor unions, elected leaders, riders, and advocates to kick off our #FastBusAve campaign to win better bus service on Flatbush Avenue!

For too long, Flatbush Avenue has been a slow, unsafe, unreliable slog for transit riders who represent the majority of the communities along the iconic 10-mile corridor. We know that bus riders deserve better, and that real solutions to faster, more reliable buses require a community-led vision.

That’s why we’ve been actively organizing with bus riders and community stakeholders to look at the issues keeping buses on Flatbush Avenue stuck in traffic (often traveling close to just 4mph!), and how bus priority projects can make Flatbush Avenue a safer and more efficient street for buses, pedestrians, bikes, and private vehicles alike.

Together with the Pratt Center for Community Development, we launched a bus rider survey as part of a participatory research project to engage Brooklyn community members to further understand the greater community impacts of better buses on Flatbush Avenue.

Are you a frequent bus rider on Flatbush Avenue? Complete the survey by August 30, 2024, and you'll be entered for a chance to win a $150 Visa gift card!
