In a turbulent and challenging state budget year, riders came together to win monumental changes toward improving the lives of everyday New Yorkers with more convenient and affordable public transit.

On Thursday, Governor Hochul announced that this year's state budget will include funding for more frequent off-peak, evening, and weekend subway service and more than a billion dollars in new, sustainable funding to keep MTA running.

Today, we’re kicking off the Riders Alliance Horrifying Headways Contest, where we’re calling on riders to post pictures of their bus or subway headways (wait times) from their stops. The winners will receive free monthly unlimited MetroCard (and the satisfaction of getting us one step closer to #6MinuteService)!
